The Illuminated bodies series is a photography project of body painting with light.
The female model out of the box.
Patterns stand for habits, repetition, rules and rituals. These works with projected patterns stand for the metaphor of the dictated habits and illustrate the potential ease to just step out of these rules. The assumed power of domination appears to be just a less than skin deep shallowness that is gone when one moves out of the projection.
In the illuminated bodies series Robin Noorda uses patterns, structures and textures to project as bodypaintings of light. The seasons in nature are the theme for this portfolio and the in France based model is Minh-Ly.
The photographic working process in these series has three creative stages. First he designs, paints or photographs the projection image, often live painted in Photoshop and directly projected on the model. Next he makes the actual photograph of the model while projecting the pattern image combined with spotlights. Finally extensive grading is been done in postproduction.
